Women's Track to Compete in Battle Born Classic

RENO, Nev. –  Pepperdine Track is sending their female runners to the Nevada-hosted Battle Born Classic for two days of action Feb. 13 and 14. The first day of competition is set to start at 1:00 p.m.

"After splitting the squad last week I'm looking forward to everyone competing together in Reno," said head coach Lauren Floris. "It'll also be nice to get some experience at the facility where we have conference in a few weeks."

The Waves will compete in a total of nine events during their short stay in the Silver State.

Ava Maly and Mia Skuraton will be the team's top seeds in the 60-meter sprint. Freshmen Annie Trapp and Sofia Martinez are set to headline the group in the 60-meter hurdles.

Isabella Reyes and Adison Moore have the fastest personal times for the blue and orange in the 400 and 200-meter sprints, respectively.

The distance events will see the duo of Brielle McClarnon (1 mile) and Lizzy Crawford (3000-meter) lead the way.

In the mid-distance Ashley Eagan, who set a new indoor mile time to start the season, will race in the 800-meter alongside Kennedy Duralde and Kayla Renner.

Pepperdine will compete in two relays: the 4x400-meter and 4000-meter distance medley.

Times will be provided online here, with a stream on the Mountain West Network here.

Last time out, the team set three indoor program records. Ashley Eagan took the aforementioned mile at 5:04.88. Lizzy Crawford went all the way in the 5K at 17:14.16. On the men's side, Kian Alton ran a Pepperdine-best 22.26 in the 200-meter.

The Waves will reconvene for the Rossi Relays in Claremont, Calif. Feb. 28.
