LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Pepperdine baseball is set to begin the 2026 season tomorrow night against USC. The Waves will battle the Trojans in a three-game weekend series before returning to Eddy D. Field Stadium next week.

NUNEZ IS BACK
Senior infielder Julian Nunez returns to the Waves in 2026. Last season, he finished fourth on the squad in batting average (.258), third in OPS (.734), and second in at-bats (186). Defensively, he tallied just four errors while totaling 57 putouts. He helped turn 10 double plays, tied for third on the team.
LET HIM COOK
Sophomore infielder Danny Cook is another returner for Pepperdine in 2026. Cook was on a heater at the plate in 2025, posting a .288 batting average across 132 at-bats. He appeared in 41 of the team's 54 games, making 32 starts. In his somewhat limited time on the diamond, he ranked:
- 5th in hits (38)
- 3rd in doubles (7)
- T-5th in runs scored (11)
- T-2nd in RBI (21)
- 5th in total bases (54)
- 4th in OPS (.700)
WILL YOU BE MY VALENTINE?
Left-handed Waves pitcher Collin Valentine is slated to start Saturday's contest at USC, which happens to be Valentine's Day.
