MALIBU, Calif. -
Tommy Scavone has been named West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced today by the WCC. It is his first-ever conference award, pre/postseason or weekly. He joins
James Dell'Amico (Freshman of the Week, March 16) among the Waves who have claimed a weekly honor in 2026.
Scavone was dominant on Saturday in a 3-0 shutout victory over San Diego. He went six innings, marking the third consecutive start that he has gone at least a half-dozen innings. Scavone surrendered only two hits and a walk in his outing while striking out eight.
In his last 19.2 innings of work across three starts, Tommy has a 2.29 ERA (five earned runs). During that span, Scavone has improved his ERA from 7.36 (entering a March 13 contest against UMass Lowell) to 4.74 after Saturday's contest against the Toreros.
The right-hander has played a big role in Pepperdine starting 4-2 (currently T-3rd with Gonzaga, who the Waves will visit this upcoming weekend) in WCC action. Pepperdine has tallied a win in four of its last six games.
The Waves are back in action tomorrow as the squad concludes its five-game homestand with a rematch against CSUN at 3:00 pm.
