Men's Basketball Returns Home to Host San Diego Wednesday Night

MALIBU, Calif. — Pepperdine men's basketball (6-16, 1-8 WCC) returns home to host San Diego (9-13, 3-6 WCC) Wednesday night at 6 p.m. from Firestone Fieldhouse.

Al Epstein and Joey Vergilis will have the call on ESPN+, with live stats for the contest available here.

The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free hat. The contest is also the Waves' Coaches vs. Cancer game.

Additional programming includes the chance to win $25,000 with full court putt. Tickets for the game are available for purchase here.

LAST TIME OUT

  • Pepperdine fell by a score of 95-79 at Washington State Saturday.
  • Styles Phipps matched a career-high 25 points to go with five assists and two steals.
  • Danilo Dozic posted 19 points on 7-for-10 shooting, knocking down three of four looks from three-point range.
  • The Waves' .536 field goal percentage marked its highest in WCC play and third-highest in a game this season.

  • Cooley and Phipps each rank within the top-25 of the conference in both scoring and rebounding.
  • Cooley ranks fifth in the conference and 48th in the country with an .881 clip from the line.
  • Aaron Clark currently ranks eighth in the WCC with 1.5 steals per game on the season.

Pepperdine men's basketball has made 13 NCAA postseason appearances while earning 12 WCC Regular-Season Championships and three WCC Tournament Championships in its history. This success has spanned multiple decades, with the Waves most recently winning the 2021 CBI Tournament. The program has also seen 19 All-Americans along with 19 NBA players, which included a streak of 34 consecutive seasons with at least one alum on an NBA roster from 1976-2011.
