MALIBU, Calif. — The Pepperdine women's volleyball team's Oct. 30 home match against LMU will be nationally televised on ESPNU, the network announced Thursday.
The match, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT, is the first time a Pepperdine home match has been nationally televised since 2019. It will be the only regular-season West Coast Conference match broadcasted on ESPNU this season. All other West Coast Conference matches will be livestreamed via ESPN+.
Fans who want to attend the match in person can purchase tickets one hour before first serve for a flat rate of $15. Groups of 10 or more are eligible for a special discounted group rate. To request group tickets, please click and complete the Group Interest Form, and a representative will provide more information. For additional assistance, reach out to the Waves Ticket Office at wavestix@pepperdine.edu or call (866) WAVE-TIX.
Pepperdine has succeeded on national television as of late. Last season, the Waves downed the Washington State Cougars in four sets in the team's lone nationally televised contest of the season.
Historically, the crosstown rivalry between the Waves and the Lions has been a pivotal part in the WCC title race. Pepperdine and LMU have finished in the top four of the conference standings in three of the last four years. LMU swept the season series last season en route to winning the WCC title, yet Pepperdine owns a 64-28 advantage in the all-time series.
Last year, LMU won its first WCC Championship since 1996 and made the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where they were swept by Stanford. But the Lions will need to defend their WCC title with new head coach Kolby O'Donnell, who became the eighth head coach in program history after 2024 WCC Coach of the Year Trent Kersten took the head coaching position at Oregon.
Meanwhile, Pepperdine brings back WCC First Team honoree Ella Piskorz, fellow All-Freshman Team member Chloe Pravednikov and WCC Honorable Mention selection Vanessa Polk. The Waves aim to improve on last year's 17-11 mark in Head Coach Scott Wong's eleventh season at the helm.
Pepperdine will kick off the 2025 campaign at UC Davis on Aug. 26 before hosting UCLA for the home opener on Sept. 2. All schedule updates can be found on the women's volleyball team's schedule page at pepperdinewaves.com.
