Chirravuri Begins Season on the Haskins Award Watch List

COLUMBUS, Ga. Pepperdine senior Mahanth Chirravuri made the 2025-2026 Haskins Award presented by Stifel Preseason Watch List, which was announced Monday.

Ever since 1971, the Haskins Award has been an annual award given to the top U.S. collegiate golfer as voted by college golfers, coaches and members of the media. Haskins Award winners have gone on to win 316 PGA Tournaments and 32 Major Championships. This is Chirravuri's first career appearance on the fall Haskins Award Watch List.

Last season, Chirravuri enjoyed his most successful season of collegiate golf to date, earning Golfweek and PING All-American honors after tying for ninth place at the NCAA Championships. He was the seventh Wave in program history to earn a top-10 finish at NCAAs. The 2025 West Coast Conference Individual Champion tied Michael Putnam for the second-most below-par rounds by a Wave in a single season with 23, plus he tied Joe Highsmith and Andrew Putman for sixth for the most top-10 finishes in a single season with seven.

Recently, several Pepperdine players have been in the hunt for the Haskins Award, chief among them being Sahith Theegala, who became the first Wave to win the Haskins Award in 2019-20. Theegala went on to become the fourth player to sweep the Haskins, Ben Hogan and the Jack Nicklaus Award in the same season.

Chirravuri and the Waves kick off the 2025-26 season at the Sahalee Players Championship, held in Sammamish, Wash. on Sept. 6-7. All schedule updates and results can be found on the men's golf team's schedule page on pepperdinewaves.com.
