LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Pepperdine women's golf team is in 11th after the first round of the NCAA Lexington Regional.

The 40th-ranked Waves posted a 17-over 305 on the 6,095-yard par-72 Keene Trace Golf Club and are currently 13 strokes behind the top-five and the cut line for the NCAA Championship. #3 Florida State is in 1st at 7-under (281), while #28 Kansas State and #34 Georgia Southern are tied for 2nd at even-par (288).

Pepperdine was led by Lauren Gomez who is tied for 19th after tabbing a 1-over 73. The low individual not on a team in the top-five will advance to the NCAA Championship, and Gomez is currently four strokes behind that mark.

PLAYER SCORES

Senior Lauren Gomez (Murrieta, Calif.) posted a 1-over 73 with two birdies and is tied for 19th after the first round. She birdied the par-5 8th hole as well as the par-4 18th on Monday.
Junior Jeneath Wong (Melbourne, Australia) is tied for 42nd after shooting a 4-over 76 in the opening round.
Freshman Grace Anderson (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) is tied for 45th after carding a 5-over 77 during her first round. Anderson collected back-to-back birdies on holes 7 and 8 on Monday.
Freshman Eunseo Choi (Auckland, New Zealand) recorded a 7-over 79 with two birdies and is tied for 53rd after the opening round. Today, Choi birdied the par-5 8th hole and the par-5 15th.
Junior Yingzhi Zhu (Nanjing, China) finished her first round with an 8-over 80 and is tied for 57th after 18 holes.
