MALIBU, Calif. – Eunseo Choi of the Pepperdine women's golf team will compete in the 2025 Augusta National Women's Amateur on April 2-5 in Augusta, Ga.
Â
"Eunseo has been a great addition to our team both on and off the golf course since arriving in January," head coach Laurie Gibbs said. "Her personality allows everyone around her to enjoy being part of our team. She has worked very hard to achieve tremendous success over the last five years and we look forward to her continued development in Malibu. Eunseo will represent Pepperdine, New Zealand and her family very well at the ANWA Championship!"
Â
The tournament was created by Augusta National Chairman Fred Ridley to inspire greater interest and participation in the women's game by creating a new, exciting and rewarding pathway for players to fulfill their dreams.
Â
Choi (Auckland, New Zealand) currently ranks 54th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) and is ready to compete in one the biggest tournaments of her young career.
Â
"I am very excited to play in the 2025 ANWA!" Choi said. "The opportunity to play Augusta National is something I have thought about since the tournament started a few years ago. I look forward to competing against the strongest women's amateur field in the world while representing New Zealand and Pepperdine University."
Â
The 2025 edition will be the sixth of the tournament's existence and it will begin the week prior to the 89th Masters. The international field will be comprised of 72 players and they'll compete across 54 holes of stroke play, with a cut down to 30 players - including ties - after 36 holes. The first two rounds will be held on the Island and Bluff nines at the Champions Retreat Golf Club on April 2-3, while the final round will take place at Augusta National on April 5.
Â
The first and second rounds will be broadcast live on Golf Channel and NBC Sports will produce and broadcast the final round from Augusta National. There will be 18 different countries and five continents represented in the tournament, including three previous champions: Tsubasa Kajitani (2021), Anna Davis (2022) and defending champion and the top-ranked amateur in the world Lottie Woad. The full 2025 field can be found here.
