MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine men's volleyball team saw five players and three coaches represent Team USA in various tournaments over the past three months.
Collecting five medals in six different tournaments, a slew of Waves were named to various national team rosters throughout the summer.
"A big part of our tradition at Pepperdine is the connection we have had with USA Volleyball," Head Coach
Jonathan Winder said. "It's been really good for these guys to get extra development. I think it has had a huge impact."

In late July,
Grant Lamoureux was named a captain of the U19 World Championship squad, leading the team in kills almost every time out, before losing to Bulgaria in the round of 16 match.
Ryan Barnett was selected for two USA squads, joining
Jacob Reilly to compete with the senior USA team in the PanAmerican Cup, while also being selected as a captain on the U23 team in the same tournament.
Although Reilly and Barnett did not secure a medal with the senior squad, Barnett was the first Wave of the summer to earn a spot on the podium, finishing second in the U23 PanAmerican Cup, good for silver.
"It was a tremendous opportunity this summer," Barnett said. "Everything about it was a dream, totally surreal. I really matured as a player and I fell in love with the game all over again."

Leading the national team to history,
Cole Hartke was selected as a part of the U21 squad to compete in the FIVB World Championship. Going on the longest run ever for Team USA in the tournament, Hartke brought a bronze medal back to Malibu.

Ford Harman, a new addition to Pepperdine from Long Beach State this past school year, competed with Team USA in both the 2025 Men's Beach Collegiate Challenge as well as the FIVB U21 World Championships for beach volleyball. Earning a silver medal in the Collegiate Challenge, the redshirt freshman brought the Waves overall hardware total to five.
On the coaching side, three different coaches were represented across four tournaments and one developmental program.
Associate head coach
Matthew Pollock notched a spot on the coaching staff of both the U21 PanAmerican Cup and U21 FIVB World Championship. Both tournaments ended in podium placements for Pollock, who earned a gold at the U21 PanAmerican Cup as well as a Bronze with Hartke at the U21 FIVB World Championship. On the sidelines, athletic trainer
Rachel Menze was also on staff behind the scenes at the U21 FIVB World Championship.

Luke Reynolds was chosen as the head coach of the U23 National Team for the USA, also coaching on the staff for Team USA in the senior PanAmerican Cup.
"It is so fun to be a part of the continued connection with Pepperdine and USA Volleyball," Pollock said. "To be a piece of the journey of future Olympians was fun but the culture of intent is the same we have here in Malibu."
Right as school started back up,
Will Craft was selected as a coach for the USA National Team Development Program. All the involvement with Team USA, on both the player and staff side, only elevates the standard for Pepperdine, according to Winder.
"All in all, a huge blessing this summer to be with USA Volleyball," Winder said. "Seeing our guys be leaders out in their various teams for what could be eventual careers and lives is a big part of what we do."
