Sport Responsibilities: Men's Volleyball, Swim & Dive
Rachel Menze joined the Pepperdine University Sports Medicine staff in August 2024 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. She works primarily with the Waves’ men’s volleyball and swim & dive programs.
Before joining Pepperdine, Menze spent two years at Cal State Northridge (CSUN), serving as an Assistant Athletic Trainer from 2022 to 2024. At CSUN, she worked with men’s volleyball, cross country, and track & field. She previously held a Graduate Assistant position at CSUN while earning her master’s degree in Kinesiology, working with men’s volleyball and men’s and women’s cross country.
Menze has been actively involved with USA Volleyball since 2022, supporting multiple national team programs. That year, she traveled with the U19 Boy's National Team to Guatemala and the U21 Women’s National Team to Mexico—both teams won gold medals at their respective Pan American Cups. In 2023, she served as the athletic trainer for the U19 Boys at the FIVB World Championship in Argentina, where the team earned a historic 7th-place finish—the best in program history. In 2024, she supported the U21 Women’s National Team at the Pan American Cup in Toronto, winning another gold. In summer 2025, she will travel with the U21 Men’s National Team to China for the FIVB World Championship.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Springfield College in 2020 and has been a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer since the same year. She is also certified in Dry Needling (since 2024) and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).
Menze currently resides in Encino with her fiancé, Phil, and their two dogs, Pop and Leia.
