SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Although
Nora Rabe and
Mollie Cho entered the Pepperdine all-time top-10 list in the 200 breast, the Pepperdine women's swim and dive program fell to San Diego 922-895 in a dual meet at USD Sports Center Pool today.
SWIM RECAP
RELAYS
Pepperdine collected two first place finishes and three second place spots in the relays. The squad of
Layla Busquets (Diablo, Calif.),
Charli Sunahara (Chino, Calif.),
Sophia Ware (Allen, Texas) and
Alexandra Browne (Arlington, Va.) won the 400 medley (3:53.69), while the group of Busquets, Sunahara, Browne and
Elliot Easton (Tampa, Fla.) finished the fastest in the 200 medley (1:46.39).
Second place finishes in the relays came from Browne, Busquets,
Lindsay Hemming (Orinda, Calif.) and Easton in the 200 free (1:36.47),
Kiana Fan (Irvine, Calif.),
Sydney Abild (Holyoke, Mass.)
Emme Spevak (Austin, Texas) and Easton in the 400 medley (3:56.23) and Browne, Busquets,
Natalie Do (Mansfield, Texas) and Easton in the 400 free (3:34.02).
INDIVIDUALS
Nora Rabe (Wayzata, Minn.) and
Mollie Cho (Frisco, Texas) respectively earned the third and seventh spot on the Waves all-time top-10 list in the 200 breast. Rabe notched a time of 2:20.85 and Cho clocked a 2:22.27 in the event.
Six Waves took first in their respective events: Abild (100 breast, 1:05.04), Halbach (400 IM, 4:33.48), Hemming (500 free, 5:06.88), Rabe (200 breast, 2:20.85), Spevak (200 fly, 2:08.96) and Ware (100 fly, 56.31).
Seven Pepperdine swimmers collected second place finishes: Browne (50 free, 24.19), Busquets (100 back, 58.64 and 100 fly,), Cho (200 breast, 2:22.27 and 400 IM, 4:35.76), Do (200 fly, 2:10.95), Fan (200 IM, 2:09.09), Halbach (1650 free, 17:41.99) and Sunahara (100 breast, 1;05.16).
Five Waves earned the final spot in the podium in their events: Adams (200 IM, 2:09.85), Easton (200 free, 1:56.60), Sunahara (200 breast, 2:22.34), Ware (200 back, 2:07.05) and Wheeler (1650 free, 18:10.22).

DIVING RECAP
In the 1-meter,
Amanda Wong (Santa Ana, Calif.) took second after tallying scores of 236.25 and 227.70.
Lexie Martin (Keller, Texas) finished right behind in third after posting scores of 232.95 and 221.70.

Pepperdine will return home to Malibu, Calif. to host Azusa Pacific in a dual meet on Saturday, January 25 at 10 a.m. The meet will be streamed on Overnght (subscription required) and a link to the stream can be found
