MALIBU, Calif. — Competing in his second fall tournament, Pepperdine men's tennis captain Linus Carlsson Halldin will represent the Waves at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, which takes place from Sept. 27-29.
Carlsson Halldin's first opponent in the singles draw has not been announced. If available, all live stream and live stat links will be available on the men's tennis team's schedule page on pepperdinewaves.com.
Including Pepperdine, 12 Division I teams will compete in the 48th edition of the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, which will be held at the Western Racquet Club and Nicolet Tennis Center. Two rounds of the singles draw will be played on Friday and Saturday, culminating in Sunday's final match. Consolation matches will also take place throughout the weekend.
Carlsson Halldin began his fall season last weekend at the Sherwood Collegiate Classic, where he went 2-2 in singles play. The senior from Stockholm, Sweden won his first match of the season against New Mexico's Dario Ciobotaru — who he beat in straight sets — before wrapping up the weekend with a straight-set win against California's Jonathan Irwanto. This will be his second appearance in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic; as a freshman in 2021, he and Daniel De Jonge won the doubles title, plus he went 1-2 in singles play.
From here, the Waves will head to ITA Regionals, hosted by Arizona State from Oct. 17-22. That tournament will be Pepperdine's penultimate opportunity to earn bids to the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, which will be held this fall.
