MALIBU, Calif. – In his second season as a professional golfer, Pepperdine men's golf alumnus William Mouw earned his PGA Tour card following this past weekend's Albertsons Boise Open presented by Chevron.  He notched nine top-25 finishes in 19 starts this season and finished in the top-10 five times.
 
"I know it's been a goal and dream of his for a long time and watching him play so much the last six or seven years, you can see it was only a matter of time," said Pepperdine Head Coach Michael Beard.  "To finally achieve it is just awesome!  William has always had the makeup to be an elite player on the PGA Tour and now he's one step closer.
 
Mouw, a Chino, Calif. native, now ranked #12 on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List and finished tied for second at the Albertsons Boise Open, the opening leg of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals.  With only three events remaining, the top 30 after the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance will earn 2025 PGA Tour status and Mouw cannot fall outside the top 30. 
 
"It is great to see some of the younger alums make their mark on professional golf," said Beard.  "The Waves could potentially could have four on the PGA Tour next year and a few more on the Korn Ferry Tour.  It makes for some fun weekends rooting for all our guys at various tournaments."
 
Mouw turned professional after graduating in 2023.  He was a four-time All-American and earned GCAA/PING All-American and Golfweek All-American third team honors his senior year.  Mouw was also a Ben Hogan Award semifinalist named to the Haskins Award and Hogan Award watch lists in 2023. 
 
He will become the ninth Wave to earn a PGA Tour card and will join Andrew Putnam, Sahith Theegala, and Joe Highsmith on the active list of players. Past Waves who played on the PGA Tour also include Jason Allred, Jason Gore, Jeff Gove, Michael Putnam, and Byron Smith.
