Chirravuri, Walsh Make Individual Cut at NCAA Championships

CARLSBAD, Calif. - The No. 14 Pepperdine men's golf team finished in 16th place at the NCAA Championships following Sunday's third and final round of stroke play, prior to the first cut being made.

Mahanth Chirravuri and Willy Walsh were among the top nine individuals on a non-advancing team that will continue to compete in Monday's round of stroke play. Chirravuri will tee off at 12:31 p.m. pacific, with Walsh starting at 12:53. Babygrande golf will once again stream coverage from 10:30am-1:30pm pacific. LSU, entering Sunday in 27th place, skyrocketed up the leaderboard with an 18-under round, moving past the Waves for the final spot before the top-15 team cut was made. Oklahoma State's Preston Stout is atop the individual leaderboard with a whopping 11-under score after going seven-under on Sunday.

Walsh had a good outing, shooting four-under through three rounds. He shot two-under on Sunday, highlighted by an impressive eagle on 10 before chipping in another shot on 12. The San Mateo, California native buried a birdie on 18 to solidify his day.

Chirravuri was just one stroke back of his counterpart, with a pair of bogeys being the difference. The senior, in addition to Walsh, cracked the top-20 on the individual leaderboard.Â

Brady Siravo birdied twice on the front nine but completed the round two-over and six-over in the three rounds.

Carson Kim had a challenging round, double-bogeying twice. The junior finished the tournament 10-over.
