Distance Runners Highlight Oxy Invite

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Pepperdine track team completed the first postseason meet of the season at Occidental College May 4.Â

Setting the first personal best of the day, Kaley Peterson took over half of a second off her 200-meter time, running a 24.86 and jumping from fourth best school time to third.

Taking place at the end of the day, the 5,000-meter run saw two Waves run for PR's. Beginning for the women, Elle Shrader replaced her fourth-best Pepperdine time, shaving half of a second off to run a 17:40.36.

On the men's side, Johnathan Flint shattered his previous record by over a second and a half. Running a 14:28.83, Flint replaced his third-best time in the Waves' record books.

Abby Winter led the pack for the 1,500-meter race, running her second-best time of the season at 4:41.92.
