MALIBU – Versatile graduate transfer Javon Cooley is set to join the Pepperdine men's basketball program for the 2024-25 season, head coach Ed Schilling announced on Tuesday morning.

Cooley played all four years at Marist College, graduating with a bachelor's degree in business administration in three years (2022-23) and began his postgraduate journey with the Red Foxes over the 2023-24 season. The two-way player averaged 5.3 points, 3.3 boards and a 38.3 percentage from beyond the arc throughout his career in Poughkeepsie while running up the MAAC statistics board last season, ranking second in the MAAC for three-point percentage with a .475 clip.
 
"Javon brings great basketball versatility to our program," Schilling said. "In his senior year at Division I Marist, he scored 7.5 points and grabbed 4.5 rebounds, while shooting 47% from 3 and 85% from the free throw line."

Capitalizing on both academics as well as Name, Image and Likeness opportunities, Cooley created his brand Chain Reaction in 2021.

Cooley joins signees Aaron Clark, Alonso Faure, Stefan Todorovic and Jayden Russotti in Coach Schilling's inaugural Waves hoops recruiting class.
