Briede and Oriskovich Earn WCC Pair of the Week

MALIBU, Calif. — Kristine Briede and Madison Oriskovich earned their first West Coast Conference Pair of the Week honors this season.

Competing on court two in all their matches at the West Coast Challenge in Santa Cruz, Calif. this past week, Kristine Briede (Balozi, Latvia) and Madison Oriskovich (Santa Barbara, Calif.) went 4-0 and put together an impressive showing all weekend.

On Friday, the duo dominated Portland as they won 21-12, 21-12 before continuing their solid performance in the afternoon against Santa Clara where they won 21-9, 21-11.

Then on Saturday against Saint Mary's, the pair dropped the first set 17-21 before battling back and winning the next two sets 21-14, 15-5 to take the court. In the afternoon against #9 LMU, Briede and Oriskovich won in straight sets 21-16, 21-17.

On the season, the pair is 15-7 overall, 13-6 in slot No. 2 and 2-1 on court three.

Briede, Oriskovich and the Waves will host the Waves Tourney in Malibu, Calif. this coming weekend as Pepperdine invites Southeastern Louisiana, CUI, CSU Bakersfield and UC Davis to town.
