LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Pepperdine's men's and women's track team set a school record, ran 12 new top-10 times and picked up first-place finishes at the Occidental Distance Carnival & Spring Break Classic this past weekend.

Brendan Fong's school-record-breaking 10.99-second time in the 100-meter dash highlighted the day, shattering Jaad Abduljawad's previous record of 11.11 seconds. Fong not only is the first Wave to run sub-11 seconds in the event, but also is the school's record holder in all three sprint events.

Spencer Mueller,
Ryan Hemphill and
Will Watkins also ran the second-fastest 4x400-meter relay time in school history with a 3:22.22, which won the meet.

In the mid-distance events,
Ryan Fabian PR'd in the 800-meter run by several hundredths of a second, finishing with a 1:52.60 — good for the third-best time in school history.

The 1,500-meter run saw two Waves place their names in the record book.
Kaleb McElfish ran 3:56.01 — the third fastest time in school history — while
Gordy Nilsen ran a 3:57.41, good for No. 7 all-time.

Last but not least for the men,
Jonathan Flint ran a personal best in the 5,000-meter run, shattering his previous record by over 10 seconds and cementing Pepperdine's third-fastest time with a 14:30.22.

The women's team was also successful at the Occidental Distance Carnival.
Kaley Peterson finished first in the 100-meter dash with a 12.21, missing her personal best by 11 hundredths of a second, while
Isabella Reyes ran for the Waves' sixth-best time in school history with a 12.59 and
Mia Skuraton finished just behind Reyes with a 12.76, good for the ninth best time in Waves history.

For the third first-place finish of the day, Reyes, Skuraton, Peterson, and
Ava Maly ran a 48.03 in the 4x400-meter relay, the third-best time in the record books.

Finishing in the top 10,
Caroline Graham ran a 2:17.05 in the 800-meter run — the fifth fastest all-time.

Yet another Waves runner rewrote the record books when
Hannah Bruner finished third in the 1,500-meter run with a 4:47.28, breaking the top 10 at number eight.

Rounding off the day,
Elle Shrader inserted herself right in the middle of the record books with the fifth-fastest 5,000-meter run in program history with a 17:48.26.
