Men's Track To Compete at Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Pepperdine men's track team will compete in their second meet of the outdoor season as they head to Long Beach State this weekend, March 2 at the Beach Opener.Â
MEET DETAILS
The meet is hosted by Long Beach State University at Jack Rose Track. Day two is set to start at 9:35 a.m. Saturday, March 2.Â
FROM THE HEAT SHEET
Brendan Fong and Nathaniel Lannen will start things off for the Waves Saturday morning as they compete in the 400-meter dash. Fong holds the school record for this event as he will attempt to break his 48.10-second time. Lannen will be running his first solo race of the season as he competed in the 4x800-meter relay at Westmont's Sunshine Opener earlier this year.Â
Will Watkins will make his season debut as he looks to compete in the 100-meter dash.Â
Pepperdine will have four representatives for the 800-meter run including Ryan Fabian, Kaleb McElfish, Daniel Whitaker, and Spencer Mueller.Â
Fong will also compete in the 200-meter dash, where he will look to break his school-record time of 21.49 seconds.Â
The Waves will have three representatives for the 3000-meter run, Dominic Silhol, Johnathan Flint, and Patrick Thomas.
Rounding out the day for track, Pepperdine will have two teams for the 4x400 relay.
