The schedule for the 2025 baseball season has been released, head coach Tyler LaTorre announced Tuesday.
"Our Waves Baseball program has always prided itself with a highly competitive schedule and the 2025 season does not disappoint," LaTorre said. "Non Conference series matchups versus Utah, Tulane, Arizona, and Nebraska, as well as an opportunity to play in the Tony Gwynn Legacy Tournament will prepare us for conference play."
Baseball opens the 2025 season similarly to last year against Big 12 opponent the University of Utah . The Waves host the Utes in a four game series at Eddy D. Field Stadium beginning February 14.
LaTorre's inaugural season in Malibu comprises 55 games, split into 28 games on the road and 27 at Eddy D. Field Stadium. As a composite, Pepperdine's schedule features six teams with a 2024 NCAA tournament berth, including Pac 12 champion Arizona (now a member of the Big 12), Big Ten champion Nebraska, Tulane, UC Santa Barbara, Grand Canyon, and West Coast Conference foe San Diego.
Pepperdine opens conference play welcoming Gonzaga to Malibu March 21-23 before heading to San Diego face off against the Toreros, the reigning WCC champs. Outside of the Zags, the Waves host Santa Clara, Saint Mary's, and Loyola Marymount in Malibu during conference play.
"The West Coast Conference, like any other year, is loaded with talent and we are excited at the potential opportunity to return back to Las Vegas for the WCC Tournament in May," LaTorre said.
Last year, Pepperdine finished sixth in the West Coast Conference with the team's first appearance in the conference tournament since 2018. Returning two of the three weekend starting pitchers, the Waves look to make an NCAA tournament run under the leadership of new head Coach Tyler LaTorre.
