QUOTABLES
"We had one of the best first days in a midseason invite that we've had in a long time," head coach
Ellie Monobe said. "We were able to think about the process and how we're going to get to the end of our championship in February, and our athletes did just that and handled today very professionally. We had some very strong swims in the morning and then we were able to increase our intensity and competitiveness in the evening. It was great to see our swimmers tackle the first session the way they did.
Ansley Halbach had the standout swim of the day, and having
Charli Sunahara go 1:03 in our relay was a huge swim for us. I'm very excited for what the rest of the meet has in store."
NEXT UP
The Waves swimmers continue with day two of the Trailblazer Invite tomorrow starting at 9 a.m. PT. Pepperdine's divers will compete in the 1-meter competition at the Trojan Diving Invitational in Los Angeles, Calif. starting at 11 a.m. PT tomorrow morning.
