#13 Pepperdine Out of Sorts in 3-0 Loss

The #13 Pepperdine women's soccer team was shutout 3-0 Saturday afternoon at Tari Frahm Rokus field for their first loss since Aug. 25.

Despite outshooting the Lions (9-4-1, 3-2-1) 25-9 and holding the advantage on corners 14-2, the Waves (9-3-3, 3-1-1) were not able to convert any chance into a goal.

Loyola Marymount got out in front early after a yellow card was shown to freshman goalkeeper Jillian Medvecky (Concord Township, Ohio) in the box, resulting in a penalty kick for the Lions.

A second card was shown to Pepperdine just 3 minutes later to freshman Elle Quinn (Folsom, Calif.). The Waves struggled to find any rhythm and even though possession was in favor of the home team for nearly 65% of the game, the nine shots put on frame did not find the back of the net.

The 3-0 shutout is Pepperdine's first conference loss this season and only their second time being shut out this year. The first came in the season opener against Utah State in the Outrigger Kickoff in Hawaii.

GOALS
8' | Kylie Dobbs of LMU successfully converted the penalty kick.
25' |  Jenessa Groves scored with an assist from Caitlyn McCulloch.
29' |  The third and final goal for the Lions came off the foot of Callan Harrington with the help of Maciana Land.
