NAPA, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's golf team finished out the Chevron Silverado Showdown, played at the par-72, 6,146-yard Silverado Resort North Course, in fifth-place on Wednesday afternoon.

The Waves had a three-round score of 890 (301-294-295), beating out five teams from the Golfstat top-25 national rankings and three from the top-10. #16 Northwestern won the tournament with a 9-over performance, while #13 Texas A&M, #30 UCLA and #15 USC finished 2
nd through 4
th. Pepperdine stayed consistent in the final two rounds, besting #8 Oregon and #9 Arizona State who tied for 6
th, as well as #6 San Jose State who finished 8
th.Â

Three Waves finished in the top-15 individually, led by
Kaleiya Romero and
Jeneath Wong who both tied for 8
th, as well as
Lion Higo who finished tied for 15
th. Â As a team, the Waves had the best scoring average on par 3's with a 3.18, while also ranking third among the 17 teams with 35 total birdies throughout the tournament.

PLAYER SCORES
- Junior Kaleiya Romero (San Jose, Calif.) tied for 8th with a three-round score of 220 (75-70-75). She had nine birdies throughout the tournament, including five in the second round.Â
- Freshman Jeneath Wong (Melbourne, Australia) also tied for 8th with a final of 220 (71-73-76). She marked eight birdies.
- Junior Lion Higo (Gold Coast, Australia) had a three-day total of 223 (78-73-72) to finish tied for 15th.  She posted six birdies in total, including two on the final day of competition while finishing even par in the third round.
- Sophomore Lauren Gomez (Murrieta, Calif.) tied for 53rd after three rounds with a score of 231 (77-78-76).
- Senior Reese Guzman (Kahului, Hawai'i) finished tied for 73rd with a final score of 235 (85-78-72).Â

Pepperdine will face one more regular season tournament, a two-day spread on April 10-11 in Millbrae, Calif. for the Silicon Valley Showcase.
