FULLERTON, Calif. – The Pepperdine track teams had another strong outdoor performance, as
William Watkins broke his own school record in the men's 200 meters at the Battle in the OC hosted by Cal State Fullerton on Thursday evening.
Watkins (Mill Valley, Calif./Marin Catholic HS), a junior, beat his own school record in the men's 200 meters in a time of 22.13, which was 0.01 seconds faster than his previous school record he held. Watkins set the 200M school record last season at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Watkins also competed in the men's 400 meters, collecting a time of 50.13.

Jenna Parsio (Lake Forest, Calif./El Toro HS),
Isabella Reyes (Caldwell, Idaho) and
Mia Skuraton (Mendham, N.J./Perkiomen School) represented the Waves in the women's 4x100 meter relay with a time of 49.21, which was the first race of the evening for Pepperdine. The men's 1,500 meters followed, and freshman
Kai Newman (Temecula, Calif./Linfield Christian HS) ran a personal record time of 4:01.86, which was 2.19 seconds faster than his previous time. In the women's 1,500 meters, freshman
Abby Winter (Edina, Minn./Southwest Christian HS) had a team's fastest time crossing the line at 5:04.42.
In the women's 400 meters, Parsio had the fastest time of the day for Pepperdine coming in at 59.17. The women's 100 meters followed the 400 meters as Peterson ran a time of 12.19, which was the fastest time for the Waves. Newman also competed in the men's 800 meters, which was the halfway race of the meet, finishing in a time of 2:00.74. In the women's 800m, three different women race personal or season best times. Freshman
Caroline Graham (Hockessin, Del./Delaware Military Academy) ran a personal and season-best time of 2:21.76, which was faster by 3.01 seconds. Junior
Kira Graves (Duarte, Calif./Arcadia HS) also ran a season-best time of 2:23.46 in the 800m, which is 2.71 faster than her previous time. Sophomore
CeCe Fleenor (Alexandria, Va./Bishop O'Connell HS) ran a personal best as well in the women's 800 meters crossing the line at 2:31.05.

Maddy Ortman (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Valor Christian HS) collected Pepperdine's fastest time in the women's 400-meter hurdles clocking in at 1:09.07. The final race of the night for the Waves was the women's 200 meters and freshman
Kelly Prunzik (Pittsburgh, Pa./Oakland Catholic HS) ran a personal and season-best time of 27.83.
Pepperdine will have a two-week break before competing again on the track at the Oxy Invite hosted by Occidental College on Saturday, May 6.
