MALIBU, Calif. — Following a 2-0 week in singles play against UCLA and BYU, Pepperdine sophomore
Savannah Broadus was named the WCC's Women's tennis singles player of the week by the conference office on Tuesday.

This marks the first time Broadus (Carrollton, Texas) has earned the conference's weekly singles award. The sophomore has won the WCC's weekly doubles team of the week award seven times this season.
Broadus beat both of her opponents in straight sets last week. In the #8 Waves loss to then-24th-ranked UCLA, Broadus beat Ava Catanzarite 6-2, 6-0 on court three, then against BYU, Broadus beat Tina Li 6-4, 6-1 in the Waves' 5-2 win over the Cougars. She has a perfect record in dual singles play this year.
Pepperdine plays at San Diego in a battle of the top two WCC teams tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. Later this week, the Waves will return home for Senior Day against San Francisco on Friday, April 21 at 1 p.m.
