MALIBU, Calif. — Pepperdine women's tennis sophomores
Anastasiia Grechkina,
Alexia Harmon and
Liam Oved are set to compete at the ITA Southwest Regionals hosted by the University of San Diego from Oct. 16-21.
All three Waves enter qualified into the singles main draw beginning on Friday, with Harmon and Grechkina challenging in the doubles draw.
Each of the 13 regional tournaments being contested this month will qualify its two singles finalists and doubles champion for the NCAA Individual Championships later this fall.
Grechkina enters as the No. 2 seed in the singles draw and will await her first round opponent from the qualifying draw. She is coming off a strong run at the ITA All-American Championships last month, earning four ranked wins on her way to the consolation semifinals.
Harmon sees herself as the No. 8 seed in singles, and is set to take on Cal State Fullerton's Seha Yu in the opening round. Oved will take on ninth-seeded Krisha Mahendran from USC in the round of 64, with a match time for both to be determined on Friday.
Grechkina & Harmon are the No. 2 seed in the doubles main draw, and are set to begin play against Grand Canyon's Diana Deaifi and Isabella Crossman at a time to be determined in the round of 32.

The Waves have a strong recent history in the tournament, winning the doubles crown in 2024 through
Savannah Broadus and
Vivian Yang.
The trio will compete for an automatic bid for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships held from Nov. 11-23 in Orlando, Florida.

Pepperdine women's tennis has been a consistent powerhouse in the collegiate scene, reaching 40 NCAA Tournaments since 1982 including 28 straight appearances. Since 2018, the program has seen three national runner-ups between both singles and doubles while reaching an NCAA Regional as a team eight times in the past nine tournaments. The success at the conference level has been paramount with 33 WCC Championships including an active streak of 11 consecutive conference titles. With its 24 total All-Americans, the program has also consistently sent players to the pro circuit following their time in Malibu.
