MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine baseball team will be back at Eddy D. Field Stadium for a three-game series hosting Cal State Fullerton. The Waves and Titans will play a double-header on Saturday and conclude the series on Sunday.

SERIES VS. CAL STATE FULLERTON: The Titans hold the overall series 71-52. The teams met last season at Goodwin Field when Pepperdine swept Cal State Fullerton 4-1, 12-2 and 12-8, in a three-game series for the first time ever in regular-season since 1999, although that was only two games.
LAST GAME: On Tuesday, the Waves dropped a midweek 11-1 to UC Santa Barbara at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium. The Waves fell behind 1-0 in the bottom of the first to the Gauchos and were held to only four hits.
Jack Basseer was 2-for-4 and was the only Wave to cross the plate. Both Basseer's hits were doubles.
Greg Mehlhaff had an RBI single, which was the only Pepperdine run on the night.
Connor Bradshaw also had one hit.
Dylan Stewart threw 1.2 innings in relief and collected his first two strikeouts in a Pepperdine uniform.
HONORS: Ryan Johnson notched the season's first West Coast Conference weekly honors for the Pepperdine baseball team when he was named Player of the Week on March 6. He batted a .571 and had an 11 RBI week, while posting back-to-back games with two home runs and five RBI to tie a career-high in RBI. In four appearances last week, Johnson only had two strikeouts and scored seven runs. He ended the week with five homers and a double.
WCC LEADERS: The Waves rank top-five in four different categories on the WCC leaderboards. Pepperdine leads the conference in home runs (15), is fourth in RBI (52), tied for fourth in runs (57) and is fifth in slugging percentage (.429).
Pepperdine also has four Waves in the top-15 in WCC stats.
Ryan Johnson leads the conference in slugging percentage (1.139), RBI (15) and home runs (7). Johnson is also sixth in on-base percentage (.535) and seventh in batting average (.472).
Greg Mehlhaff is tied fourth in home runs (three) and tied 11th in RBI (nine).
John Peck is tied 10th in home runs (two). On the pitching side,
Shane Telfer is tied first in both ERA (1.13) and wins (two).
