Waves Finish Fourth at Juli Inkster

FAIRFAX, Calif. – Three Waves finished in the top-20 at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, helping the Pepperdine women's golf team to a fourth-place finish.

Freshman Jeneath Wong picked up her second top-five finish in as many tournaments, tying for third at 215, which was good for 1-under par.  It's her best finish since joining the blue and orange - she finished fourth at The Show at Spanish Trail in her previous best outing in late February.

Lion Higo and Kaleiya Romero also finished in the top-20 as Higo tied for 11th and Romero tied for 17th.  It's Higo's sixth time in the top-20 just this year as she has achieved the feat in every single tournament the Waves have played since September.

The Waves collected a three-round total of 878 (294-289-295) at the par-72, 6,157-yard Meadow Club.  Top-ranked Stanford took home the hardware, while #11 USC and #5 San Jose State finished in second and third respectively.  Pepperdine bested Cal and fellow West Coast Conference competitor BYU by six- or eight-strokes respectively and there were 13 teams competing in the tournament.
