MATCH RECAPS
In the first match, the Horned Frogs came out firing, collecting first set wins in both matches of the first flight and working towards a pair of two-set wins to pull ahead early. TCU kept that momentum in the following flight, earning straight-set wins on the following three courts to complete the sweep.
Â
It was tighter against the tournament-host, as each the Waves and Ospreys took a first set against each other in the first flight.Â
Kristine Briede and
Madison Oriskovich won their first set 21-19, though the opposition was able to rally and take 21-17 and 15-13 set wins to put two wins on the board heading into the next flight. Though courts one and two would play to tight three-set results, North Florida won on court three to clinch the dual.Â
Â
McKenna Thomas and
Alexus McLeod rallied back from a 21-17 first set loss to win 21-18 and force a third, but the Ospreys had the home court advantage and used it for a 16-14 set win to make it 4-0.Â
Savannah Standage and
Kate Clermont won their first set 22-20 in the No. 2 position, but their opponents countered with a 21-15 second set win to force a third. After going point-for-point, the home team would win 15-13 to complete the sweep.Â
