Tori Waldeck of the Pepperdine women's soccer team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District first team today.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must have a 3.5 minimum grade point average, have participated in at least 50 percent of the season's events and have at least a sophomore standing both academically and athletically.

Enge (Cardiff, Calif./Pacific Ridge School), a senior midfielder, is a sustainability major who impressed with a 3.909 grade point average. She also earned CSC Academic All-District acclaim in 2022 and is a three-time WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'gold' honoree and Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete. This season, she started in all 19 matches for the Waves, marking three goals and seven assists to accrue 13 points.

Maloof (Kirkland, Wash./Lake Washington HS), a senior defender, is majoring in integrated marketing communications and amassed a 3.69 GPA. She has been a three-time recipient of the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll with two silver honors and one bronze honor throughout her career, while also earning Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete honors three times. This season, Maloof has played in 18 matches and started in 12, helping the squad keep opponents to 1.11 goals allowed per game and seven shutouts.

Murphy (Riverside, Calif./Martin Luther King HS), a redshirt-freshman midfielder, has posted a 3.717 grade point average while studying nutritional science.  She garnered WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'gold' honors and Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete last season as well. This season, she played in all 19 matches and started in six, marking a pair of goals and assists for six points.Â

Waldeck (Newhall, Calif./Hart HS) a senior forward, is studying liberal arts for education and has obtained a 3.615 GPA. She was the West Coast Conference Player of the Year this year, and also earned All-WCC first team honors. She garnered United Soccer Coaches All-West Region first team honors in 2021 and was an All-WCC first team selection in 2021 and second team honoree in 2020. She also earned three WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll honors with two silver nods and one bronze nod, while tabbing a spot on the WCC All-Academic honorable mention squads for two seasons. She is also a three-time Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete and was on the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list at the beginning of the 2022 season.  This season, she started all 19 games, while leading the Waves with 11 goals – including three game winners. She also tabbed five assists and totaled 27 points, while commanding the field with 36 shots on goal out of 64 total shots.

The Waves finished the season 9-5-5 overall, with a 6-2 record among West Coast Conference opponents to finish second in the league. Pepperdine also made the program's 13
th all-time NCAA appearance.
