MALIBU, Calif. – Tori Waldeck and Trinity Watson of the Pepperdine women's soccer team have been picked to repeat as All-West Coast Conference performers, as the league office announced its preseason coaches polls today.
 
A vote of the league's coaches had Pepperdine picked to finish third in the WCC behind BYU and Santa Clara.
 
Waldeck (Newhall, Calif./Hart HS) and Watson (Ocean Beach, Calif./Point Loma HS) have both already All-WCC first team and second team picks.
 
Waldeck, a junior, earned All-WCC second team and WCC All-Freshman honors during the 2020 season, and was an All-WCC first team selection in the 2021 season. Waldeck was the second-leading scorer on the squad last year with nine goals and led the Waves in assists with 10.
 
Watson, a senior defender/forward, is utilizing a COVID-19 redshirt year to return for a fifth season. She is a two-time All-WCC first team selection and earned All-WCC second team honors in the 2021 season. Watson has tallied 12 career goals and has converted six penalty kicks on six attempts, which is only one shy of the school record.
 
The Waves finished the 2022 season with a 17-4-1 record and a third-place finish in the WCC. Pepperdine had one of its best seasons ever, making it to the NCAA Tournament for the 12th time in program history, and advancing to the round of 16 for only the fourth time in the program's history.
