
WCC All-Academic Teams Released

MALIBU, California – A total of 55 Pepperdine student-athletes received West Coast Conference All-Academic honors for the 2021-22 school year on Thursday, with 15 of them achieving first team status.

In order to qualify for WCC All-Academic recognition, student-athletes were required to have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average, have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing, and participate in at least 50 percent of the season's contests.

Five Waves earned All-Academic first team honors for the third year in a row: Daniel De Jonge (men's tennis), Simone Priebe (women's beach volleyball), Madison Shields (women's indoor volleyball), Karl Winter (men's cross country) and Tim Zeitvogel (men's tennis). Shields also had the distinction of receiving first team awards in both beach and indoor volleyball this year.

Winter was named to the first team for the third straight season, while McCabe was honorable mention for the third time. Felkins was previously on the first team in 2019.
