Three Waves Collect All-WCC Honors

MALIBU, California – Three members of the Pepperdine baseball team garnered postseason honors from the West Coast Conference today, highlighted by John Peck being named to the All-WCC first team.

Additionally, Charles Masino received All-WCC honorable mention and Cole Sheehan was named to the WCC All-Freshman team.

Peck (Moorpark, Calif./Moorpark HS), a sophomore shortstop, led the WCC with a .361 batting average, collecting 60 hits including seven home runs (which tied him for 11th in the WCC), 11 doubles and two triples. Peck had 33 RBI on the year, which ranked him 13th in the WCC. He also had seven stolen bases on the year, which tied him in the WCC for 16th. Not only did Peck rank in the top-20 in multiple categories in the conference, but he also led the Waves in batting average,slugging percentage (.578) and on-base percentage (.417). Peck was also named to the WCC preseason team at the beginning of the season and this marked his first postseason honor of his career.

Masino (Newbury Park, Calif./Oaks Christian HS), a sophomore outfielder and designated hitter, ranked 11th in the WCC in batting average at .313, which was also good for second on the team. Masino plated 52 hits on the year including four doubles, one triple and his first two career home runs. He also ranked second on the team in on-base percentage at .375. Masino had 18 RBI during the season, which ranked him fifth on the team. This is Masino's first postseason honor in a Waves' uniform.

Sheehan (Phoenix, Ariz./Mountain Pointe HS), a freshman infielder and catcher, had a solid debut season as he hit .260 with 25 hits including a double, triple and his first career home run. Sheehan had eight RBI on the year. Sheehan split time between first and behind the dish, having appeared in 32 games and starting 25 of them with 18 starts behind home plate.
