Women's Track Completes First Indoor Meet of 2022

PROVO, Utah – The Pepperdine women's track team started its 2022 season Saturday at the BYU Indoor Invite.Â
Megan LaCamera (Burbank, Calif./Burbank HS) was the top performer in the indoor mile. The freshman posted a time of 5:41.87, which was good for 10th place.Â
Kaley Peterson (Sunnyvale, Calif./Saint Francis HS) had the team's best time in the 200 meters, collecting a time of 26.33, which was good for seventh place.Â
Skylar Davis (Savannah, Ga./Savannah Arts Academy) had the team's best performance in the 3,000 meters, as did Caroline Fleenor (Alexandria, Va./Bishop O'Connell HS) in the 800 meters. Pepperdine's top team in the 4x400m was freshman Maddy Ortman (Highlands ranch, Colo./Valor Christian HS), freshman Leah Dixon (Reno, Nev./Damonte Ranch HS), Peterson and freshman Eden Mittelsdorf (Nashville, Tenn./Brentwood HS). Senior Annelies Ondersma (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./University Liggett School), Fleenor, sophomore Paula Leigh (Livermore, Calif./Granada HS) and LaCamera represented Pepperdine in the distance medley relay.Â
The Waves' next indoor meet is the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational in New Mexico on January 22.Â
