Waves 2022 Track Schedule Released

MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine men's and women's track teams have released the meet schedule for the 2022 season.

The women's team launches the 2022 season with three indoor meets, starting at the BYU Indoor Invite on January 14th and 15th in Provo, Utah. Following the season opener, the women will head to New Mexico for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational on January 22 and then head to the Pacific Northwest for the Portland Invite on February 5.

Both the men and women will be back for a string of Southern California meets to begin the outdoor season, starting in Claremont at the Rossi Relays on February 26 and then down to Long Beach for the Beach Opener Invite on March 5. Next the Waves will compete in the Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic (Los Angeles, Calif.) on March 12. After a two-week break, Pepperdine will race at the Sound Running Collegiate Invite on April 1st and 2nd in Irvine, Calif.

On April 8th and 9th, the Waves will travel south to La Jolla, to race in the Triton Invitational before heading inland for the Bryan Clay Invitational (Azusa, Calif.) on April 15th. Pepperdine will compete in the Steve Scott Invitational (Irvine, Calif.) on April 30th before concluding the regular season at the Occidental Invitational in Los Angeles on May 7th.

"Our distance and sprints athletes all put in a lot of hard work this fall so I'm looking forward to seeing the fruits of their labors this spring," said head coach Lauren Floris. "For most of our athletes this will be their first full, traditional season with the Waves due to the COVID interruptions in 2020 and 2021 so everyone is excited to get this rolling and to see what they are capable of."
