On Monday, the Waves will be paired with San Jose State and New Mexico State and they'll start on the first tee at 9:50 a.m. There will be live scoring on Golfstat.

NCAA FINALS — To reach the NCAA Championships (May 21-26 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona), teams must finish in the top six to advance. The top three individuals on non-qualifying teams will also make it.
PEPPERDINE LINEUP — The Waves' lineup consists of freshman Caroline Hwang (Orlando, Fla.), freshman Kaleiya Romero (San Jose, Calif.), sophomore Reese Guzman (Kahului, Hawai'i), senior Megan Dennis (Bedfordshire, United Kingdom) and freshman Lion Higo (Gold Coast, Australia).
The Waves' three freshmen are obviously playing in their first NCAA Regional. But for Dennis and Guzman, who joined the program last year, it'll also be their first NCAA Regional after the 2020 postseason was canceled.
RANKINGS — Pepperdine is #50 by Golfstat and #54 by Golfweek/Sagarin.
NCAA HISTORY — Pepperdine is competing in NCAA Regional play for the 22nd consecutive time. The Waves have advanced to the NCAA Championships 12 times, last making it in 2017. Pepperdine has recorded four top-five and eight top-10 finishes at nationals.
The Waves' best-ever finish at a regional was a tie for first place at the 2002 NCAA West Regional at Stanford. The top individual finish was a tie for second place by Katherine Hull that year and by Tatiana Wijaya in 2017.
This is the fifth time that Pepperdine has gone to Stanford for an NCAA Regional. The Waves advanced in 2002 and also competed there in 2004, 2013 and 2016.
WCC AWARDS — In addition to being the WCC medalist, Caroline Hwang was named the WCC Freshman of the Year ... Pepperdine put a league-best four players on the All-WCC first team: Hwang, Reese Guzman, Lion Higo and Kaleiya Romero ... Hwang received the WCC's Player of the Month award for both February and April.
SEASON HIGHLIGHTS — The Waves had a successful start to the spring season. First, they defeated New Mexico State and Cal State Fullerton in their three-team Moorpark Intercollegiate. Caroline Hwang was the medalist and the Waves took the top four spots on the leaderboard. ... Then, Pepperdine took fourth place at the 12th annual Bruin Wave Invitational, the team's best finish at its own event since 2014. The Waves went from eighth to sixth to fourth over the three days. Reese Guzman took fifth place ... Lion Higo tied for 10th against an extremely strong field at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic ... Kaleiya Romero was third and Hwang tied for eighth at the Dick McGuire Invitational ... Hwang earned her second win of the season at the WCC Championships, coming back from four shots down in the final round to win by a stroke. Romero tied for second. The Waves were 10 shots back heading into the final round and came back to force a playoff with Gonzaga, but settled for second place.
ABOUT PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY — Pepperdine boasts a one-of-a-kind athletic department with unprecedented success for a school of its size. The Waves have won NCAA Division I championships in five different men's sports — one of just 18 schools to have accomplished this feat — and nine overall. Of this elite group, Pepperdine has the smallest undergraduate enrollment, is the only school without football and is the only university that has not been affiliated with a "major" conference. The Waves have won a total of 25 team or individual national championships in their history. Pepperdine has also earned the Division I-AAA All-Sports Trophy, an award based on postseason success that's given to the top non-football school, three times (most recently in 2011-12). Located in scenic Malibu, California, the university overlooks the Pacific Ocean and its campus and athletic facilities are regularly voted among the nation's most beautiful. Pepperdine, which is affiliated with the Church of Christ, ranks #49 overall on U.S. News and World Report's list of America's best colleges.
