th overall NCAA Tournament appearance, the 28
th-ranked Pepperdine men's tennis team will head to host USC to take on UC Santa Barbara in the NCAA First Round on Friday morning.

ON UCSB
Winners of the Big West Conference championship, the Gauchos rolled through the 2021 season at 10-5, dropping to Pac-12 opponents UCLA, Washington and Arizona as well as Big West foes UC Irvine and Cal Poly. In the conference tournament, however, UCSB defeated both the Anteaters and the Mustangs in route to the title. The Gauchos hold no ranked singles or doubles players, as Pepperdine stands 35-4 all-time with UCSB.
ON USC
The eighth-ranked Trojans will play host this weekend, coming in hot off of another Pac-12 title. USC went 5-2 in conference play, however, dropping to Arizona and Stanford both in 4-3 fashion. Of the Trojans' six losses, three came during their time in the ITA National Team Indoors, but one loss was attributed to the Waves who stormed into Troy and left with a 4-3 upset of #8 USC.

Pepperdine clocked in at #28 in this week's ITA poll, with senior
Adrian Oetzbach coming in at #118 and the pair of Oetzbach and
Guy Den Ouden at #77. Most recently, the Waves defeated BYU and San Diego for the outright WCC title- the program's first since 2013.
Freshman phenom Den Ouden leads the Waves in singles wins this season, going 15-3 overall and 7-0 in conference play, all on courts two and three for Pepperdine while riding an 11-match winning streak. Junior
Daniel De Jonge is not far behind at 10-5 on the season, sitting at a spotless 5-0 on court two for the Waves. Fellow junior
Tim Zeitvogel won seven-straight this season, following a streak that began on March 17, 2019.
