PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Waves got things going in the first as both Young and Reese Alexiades (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa HS) singled to start the game. Modlin hit a single up the middle scoring both runners, putting the Waves up 2-0 through one inning.

In the second inning, Justin Lutes (Las Vegas, Nev./College of Southern Nevada) walked to lead the inning off. Charles Masino (Newbury Park, Calif./Oaks Christian HS) and Joe Caparis (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif./Palos Verdes HS) both singled to load the bases. Young then got an infield single, scoring Lutes. Cook then singled in two more to give the Waves a 5-0 lead through two innings.

After Young doubled in the top of the fourth, Cook doubled him in to extend the Waves' lead to 6-0 through four innings.

Young and Alexiades both got two-out singles in the sixth inning, and Cook was hit by a pitch before Modlin drove in two runs with a single to give the Waves an 8-0 lead through six innings.

In the seventh, Lutes scored on a bases loaded walk issued to Alexiades. A bases-loaded single from Cook plated two more, bringing his RBI total to five on the day and the Waves' lead to 11-0.

A bases loaded single in the bottom of the eighth got the Tigers on the board, but the Waves led 11-2 after eight innings.

In the top of the ninth, Michael Winaker () hit the first home run of his career to put the Waves up 12-2. Young then followed up with a two-run home run of his own to push the lad to 14-2. Modlin then joined the home run parade, hitting a two-run shot of his own, and the Waves led 16-2.
