RECAP
It was a strange day for both schools, as San Diego only fielded four players, therefore pushing doubles to a single court clinch and forfeiting courts five and six in singles. In doubles, however,
Corrado Summaria and
Tim Zeitvogel played the heroes on court two after several back and forth game points. Eventually, the pair won 6-4 to clinch the doubles team point for the Waves, halting court one at four-all.
In singles, Pepperdine needed just one court to clinch the match, as the Toreros had relinquished two singles points and the doubles point to put the Waves up 3-0. It seemed as though all courts were going to go into three sets until De Jonge pulled ahead of Norfeldt on court three, winning his match in the break point.
The Waves honored seniors
Adrian Oetzbach and
Pawel Jankowiak for their time and effort spent propelling the program forward.
