PROVO, Utah – The seventh-ranked Pepperdine women's tennis team had no issue defeating BYU on the road on Friday morning, earning their seventh-straight West Coast Conference win and 19^th overall.
 
Freshman Nikki Redelijk earned the clinch point for the Waves on court five going 6-0, 6-1.

RECAP
In the penultimate match of the 2021 dual season, the Waves took little time in dismantling the Cougars. In doubles, courts two and three quickly defeated their BYU opponents by scores of 6-4 each, earning Pepperdine the doubles point.
 
In singles, all courts won in straight sets with only one needing a tiebreaker. Shiori Fukuda was first to the finish line on court three, demolishing BYU's Jiao 6-1, 6-0 for the 2-0 overall lead. Astrid Olsen was next to the win column, defeating Wanlass in almost the same fashion as Fukuda- 6-2, 6-0.
 
Freshman Nikki Redelijk allowed only one point to her opponent through both sets to complete the 4-0 clinch at 6-0, 6-1.
 
As all matches played to completion, Lisa Zaar saw the next success on court four, earning a 6-2, 6-3 win over BYU's Astle. #113 Ashley Lahey needed a 7-6(3) tie break in her first set but put BYU's Abramyan to rest in the second at 6-2 for the 6-0 overall lead.
 
Freshman #116 Taisiya Pachkaleva completed her 21^st-straight dual singles win this season on court two with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Heimuli. The phenom has yet to lose a match on an outdoor court this year.
