SCOUTING THE BRUINS
Out of their six matches played this season, the #17 Bruins have lost twice- both of which to highly-ranked USC. UCLA was invited to USC's hosting of the ITA Kickoff Weekend, where they defeated Cal 4-0 but fell to the Trojans 1-4. Since then, UCLA has defeated the likes of West Coast Conference fellow LMU, UCSB and UNLV while adding their second loss to USC in the midst.
Â
The Bruins currently have two ranked singles players in #10 Keegan Smith and #22 Govind Nanda. The pair also make up the only ranked doubles team for UCLA, where they sit at #13.
Â
The last time the Waves defeated the Bruins was in 2006, where Pepperdine defeated UCLA twice in route to the program's national championship.
Â
SCOUTING THE ANTEATERS
UC Irvine has also played six matches and lost two this season, where they started off with a 4-3 win over LMU. The Anteaters then faced #1 USC and San Diego, losing both at 7-0 and 5-2 respectively. UC Irvine has won three-straight since the losses including matches over Fresno State, SDSU and Weber State.
Â
The Anteaters hold no ranked singles or doubles players. The Waves hold the all-time series at 45-6.
