MALIBU, Calif. – The fourth-ranked Pepperdine women's tennis team made quick work of the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos in a 7-0 sweep on Friday, March 5. #33 Jessica Failla clinched the match for the Waves with a 6-0, 6-2 win on court one.

RECAP
In doubles, Ashley Lahey and Nikki Redelijk got on the board first by winning 6-4 on court two; they won on a Gaucho double-fault. Failla and Shiori Fukuda clinched on court one seconds later. The duo battled back from a 3-0 deficit to win 6-3.
In singles, #88 Taisiya Pachkaleva made quick work of her opponent on court three with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Then, #12 Shiori Fukuda and Failla followed with 6-0, 6-2 wins on courts four and one, respectively, in order to seal the deal for the Waves.
The Gauchos and the Waves agreed to play out the matches, but the remaining matches were all Pepperdine. The most dramatic match of the day was between #1 Lahey and UCSB's Camille Kiss, who pushed each other to the seventh point in both sets. Lahey, however, would win 7-5, 7-5.
