#5 Waves Kick Off Conference Play

MALIBU, Calif. – The fifth-ranked Pepperdine women's tennis team is set to begin West Coast Conference play this weekend with matches against Santa Clara and San Francisco on Friday and Saturday.

The #5 Waves are currently riding a six-match win streak, seeing wins over ranked opponents #16 USC (twice), #13 Oklahoma State, #5 UCLA and #20 Cal. In their most recent outing, Pepperdine took a 6-1 win over the then-20th-ranked Bears with a Nikki Redelijk clinch point on court two. #94 Taisiya Pachkaleva stayed on her streak of being the first court to finish, winning 6-4, 6-2 over #43 Julia Rosenqvist.

Redshirt freshman Lexi Ryngler returned to action for the Waves, rounding out the win at 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 on court five.

WAVES IN THE RANKS
The ITA released its most recent rankings on Wednesday, seeing three Waves remain in the top 100. Jessica Failla was rightfully bumped all the way up to #4, as Ashley Lahey and Pachkaleva fell to #67 and #94 respectfully.

Pepperdine will travel to the Bay Area for a slew of matches, starting off with #35 Stanford on Friday, April 2.
