Â
The Aggies (4-7) jumped out to an early lead, and the Waves (3-8) could not catch up as UC Davis had an answer for every run the Waves scored.

Â
Pepperdine answered in the top of the second, getting a home run from Connor Bradshaw (New Rochelle, N.Y./Trinity-Pawling HS), the first of his collegiate career. After two innings, the Aggies led 5-1.
Â
The Waves got on the board again in the fourth inning after a Johnson's home run. Justin Lutes (Las Vegas, Nev./College of Southern Nevada) walked to lead off the inning. Johnson then pulled a 2-1 pitch deep over the left-center field wall for his fourth home run of the year, leading the team. UC Davis answered with a home run of their own in the bottom half, as well as a bases-loaded single and led 8-3 after four complete innings.

In the sixth, Johnson again hit a two-run home run after a Lutes walk, getting the Waves to within three runs through six innings.

The Aggies extended their lead in the bottom of the seventh, as an RBI-single brought home a leadoff triple. Through seven innings UC Davis led 9-5. The Aggies scored again in the bottom of the eighth, taking 10-5 lead, which the Waves could not overcome in the ninth.
