MALIBU, Calif. – Hot off a 5-2 upset of #14 Oklahoma State, the Pepperdine men's tennis team heads to Las Vegas on Friday for a midday match against UNLV before returning home to take on #5 Texas Christian on Sunday.

SCOUTING UNLV
The Rebels have played in seven matches this season, winning three and dropping four. They competed in the 2021 ITA Kickoff Weekend at #1 USC, losing to the Trojans and to Cal in the consolation round. UNLV won three straight matches after the Kickoff, going 4-1 over New Mexico State, 4-0 over Montana and 4-1 over Weber State. Most recently, the Rebels dropped to Wichita State and Denver. UNLV currently does not have any ranked athletes.
SCOUTING THE HORNED FROGS
Fifth-ranked TCU has only dropped two of their past nine contests, as both came in the National Indoors earlier this month. Competing in the uber competitive Big 12, the Frogs have accrued wins over then-#6 Baylor, then-#20 Ole Miss and then-#1 USC. Their two losses include current #3 Tennessee and #4 Virginia.
Ranked singles players include #21 Alastair Gray, #47 Luc Fomba, #113 Sander Jong and #125 Jacob Fearnley. The pair of Gray and Fearnley is TCU's highest ranked doubles team at #15, followed by Jong and Tadeas Paroulek at #24 and Fomba and Bertus Kruger at #53.
SURF REPORT
In their last outing, the Waves took control of #14 Oklahoma State in Malibu, going 5-2 over the Cowboys. The match saw multiple upsets in a doubles topple between
Adrian Oetzbach/Guy Den Ouden and the #3 pair in the country of Emile Hudd/Matej Vocel.
In singles, Den Ouden flipped the script again, defeating #61 Dominik Kellovsky in 6-2, 7-6(7) fashion, not allowing the Cowboy a single point in the tie break. Senior Oetzbach delievered a commanding 7-5, 6-4 blow to the highest ranking OSU player in #49 Matej Vocel on court one.
Pietro Fellin saw his first clinch point of the season after beating Matisse Bobichon on court six to put the score at a 4-0 lead for the Waves.
