Five Waves Collect All-West Region Honors

MALIBU, California – Five members of the Pepperdine women's soccer team collected All-West Region status from United Soccer Coaches, featuring Joelle Anderson, Zoe Clevely, Carlee Giammona, Tori Waldeck and Trinity Watson.
The five Waves garnering All-West Region have tied a program record (2011, 2014, 2017) and they have notched the most-ever first teamers in program history (previous was three in 2014).
Anderson (San Jose, Calif./The Harker School), a redshirt senior forward, has earned All-West Region honors for the fourth time in her career, and third time on the first team. Anderson also made the All-WCC first team for the fifth time as a Wave, as she led the Waves with 11 goals and 30 points. She collected a goal in two postseason matchups against South Dakota State and NC State, as well as tallying two assists against the Jackrabbits and one assist against the Wolfpack. Anderson was also a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award, named to the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list coming into the season and was named WCC Offensive Player of the Week for two consecutive weeks (9/6 and 9/14).
Clevely (Huntington Beach, Calif./Edison HS), a redshirt senior goalkeeper, has earned All-West Region honors for the first time, and was also named All-WCC honorable mention. Clevely posted 12 shutouts, which put her in sole possession of second on the Pepperdine all-time single-season list. She had a .831 save percentage through 17 games and only allowed 13 goals with a 0.59 goals-against average. Through 22 games, Clevely collected 17 wins, which marked her first on the Pepperdine all-time single-season wins list. Clevely also collected WCC Defensive Player of the Week twice this season (8/23 and 10/11).
Giammona (Las Vegas, Nev./Palo Verde HS/Alabama), a junior midfielder, contributed seven goals and eight assists, including three assists at Vanderbilt that tied the school record. Giammona earned her first All-West Region honor and was also named All-WCC second team this season. She had two game-winning goals this season and scored two goals in the postseason against South Dakota State and NC State.
Waldeck (Newhall,Calif./Hart HS), a sophomore forward, earned her first All-West Region honor and also garnered All-WCC first team this season. Waldeck led the Waves in assists with 10 and also had nine goals this season including the lone goal against TCU, which gave the Waves one of their biggest road wins in program history. She had three assists during the first round of the NCAA Tournament against South Dakota State, which tied the school record. Waldeck also notched WCC Offensive Player of the Week this year (9/20).
Watson (Ocean Beach, Calif./Point Loma HS), a senior defender, marked her second time making All-West Region honors and her first on the first team (in 2019 she made the second team). She also collected All-WCC for the third straight year as a Wave. Watson started all 22 games this season and had five goals to go with five assists. She was a perfect 4-for-4on penalty kicks and had two game-winning goals against UC Riverside and UC Santa Barbara. Watson was also named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week twice this year.
The Waves went 17-4-1 this season, finishing third in the West Coast Conference, while making it to the NCAA Tournament for the 12th time in program history and the fourth time to the Round of 16. Pepperdine was also a national fourth seed entering the tournament, which was only the fifth time that the Waves earned a national seed.
