Seven Waves Garner All-WCC Honors

MALIBU, California – Seven members of the #19 Pepperdine women's soccer team received postseason honors from the West Coast Conference today, highlighted by Joelle Anderson and Tori Waldeck making the All-WCC first team.
Additionally, Carlee Giammona and Trinity Watson were All-WCC second team, and Zoe Clevely was All-WCC honorable mention. The Waves had two players on the WCC All-Freshman team in Tabitha LaParl and Kam Pickett.
The Waves finished the regular season last week with a 15-3-1 overall record and a third-place finish in the WCC at 6-2-1. Pepperdine is a national number four seed in the NCAA Tournament and will play host to South Dakota State in the first round on Saturday, November 13.
Anderson (San Jose, Calif./The Harker School), a redshirt senior forward, has now earned All-WCC honors in all five of her seasons as a Wave (2017 and 2018 second team, 2019 and 2020-21 first team). She led the team with nine goals and had five assists this season. Anderson had four game-winning goals for Pepperdine including the lone goal against Texas A&M. She started 18 of 19 games.
Clevely (Huntington Beach, Calif./Edison HS), a redshirt senior goalkeeper, earned her first All-WCC honors as a Wave. She was named WCC Defensive Player twice this season, after posting two shutouts against USC and San Diego State in the first two games of the season, as well as blanking San Diego and Loyola Marymount (week of 10/11). Clevely had 11 solo shutouts, 56 saves, .836 save percentage and 0.58 goals-against average. She started all 19 games this season.
Giammona (Las Vegas, Nev./Palo Verde HS/Alabama), a junior midfielder, contributed five goals this season and led the Waves in assists with eight, including three assists against Vanderbilt that tied the school record. She had two game-winning goals this season against Portland and LMU. Giammona played and started all 19 games.
LaParl (Lakewood, Calif./Los Alamitos HS), a freshman forward, played in all 19 games this season with 15 starts. She scored two goals including the game-winning goal against Gonzaga and had three assists.
Pickett (Santa Barbara, Calif./Dos Pueblos HS), a redshirt freshman defender, played in all 19 games this season with 18 starts. She contributed two assists and is part of the backfield that has helped the Waves to its best start in program history and new program shutout record with 12 this season.
Waldeck (Newhall, Calif./Hart HS), a sophomore forward, earned her second All-WCC honors as a Wave, marking the first for her on the first-team (2020-21 second team and All-Freshman). She had eight goals including the lone game-winning goal at TCU giving the Waves one of its biggest road wins in program history and a game-winning goal against San Diego. She played in 18 games this season and started 17.
Watson (Ocean Beach, Calif./Point Loma HS), a senior defender, earned All-WCC honors for the third straight year. She started and played in all 19 games this season. She had five goals including four on penalty kicks, and game-winning goals against UC Riverside and UC Santa Barbara. She also had five assists this season. Watson was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week twice this season.
