Men's Volleyball Announces 2021 Schedule

MALIBU, California – The #7 Pepperdine men's volleyball team has announced its 2021 schedule, and the Waves will play a 20-match regular season against the other six Mountain Pacific Sports Federation schools.

The Waves, picked to finish second in the preseason MPSF coaches' poll, will begin the campaign with a home-and-home series against Concordia next week (January 25 in Malibu, January 27 in Irvine).

Pepperdine will face BYU and Concordia four times, and Grand Canyon, Stanford, UCLA and USC three times each. Eleven matches will be at home and nine will be away.

After starting the season with a home match, the next five will be away. Pepperdine will have a stretch of seven consecutive home matches in March.

Pepperdine returns all six starters from a year ago, only losing last year's libero, and has eight players back that started at least half the season's matches. In fact, returning players account for 99.3% of the 2020 kill totals. The 2020 season was cut short in mid-March. The Waves had an 8-6 record and were ranked eighth by the AVCA. Noah Dyer and Austin Wilmot are returning All-Americans, as both received AVCA honorable mention status.

2021 Schedule: January 25 vs. Concordia, January 27 at Concordia, February 4 at USC, February 12-13 at BYU, February 17 at Concordia, February 19 vs. Concordia, February 24 at USC, February 26 vs. USC, March 3 vs. Stanford, March 11 at UCLA, March 13 vs. UCLA, March 19-20 vs. BYU, March 26-28 vs. Grand Canyon, March 31 vs. UCLA, April 9-10 at Stanford.
