WAVEPOINTS
• The Pepperdine men's basketball team will be looking to recapture some of the postseason magic that the Waves found last season at the University Credit Union West Coast Conference Basketball Championships. The 2020 tournament begins this week in Las Vegas.
• Last year, the Waves won three games in three nights to reach the semifinals as the #8 seed. This year, they'll have a first-round bye as the #6 seed and will begin play on Friday night.
• Pepperdine will face either Santa Clara or Portland, two teams the Waves swept this year. The Waves are 18-2 at the WCC Tournament against teams they beat twice already. If the Waves win, they'll play #3 seed Saint Mary's at 9 p.m. on Saturday.
• Colbey Ross, who made the All-WCC first team for the second straight year, has become Pepperdine's all-time assist leader this season as a junior and has risen to #2 on the all-time scoring chart. He's 84 points away from Stacy Davis' record.
• Ross, who is on a pace to break his own school record with a WCC-leading 7.2 assists per game, ranks fourth nationally in total assists (216) and fifth in assists per game.He has more career assists (634) than any junior in the country and he's seventh among all active Division I players. He's now 10th all-time among WCC players.
• Ross, who is averaging 19.8 points, good for second in the WCC, needs five points to notch his second straight 600-point, 100-assist, 100-rebound season. He's the only WCC player to even do this once in the last 20+ years.
• Kameron Edwards, named to the All-WCC second team, ranks fifth in the conference in both scoring (16.5) and rebounding (7.1).
• Kessler Edwards, also named to the All-WCC second team, leads the league in blocked shots (1.9). His 56 blocks are tied for eighth on the Waves' single-season list. He's 10th all-time at Pepperdine with 90 career blocks.
• Sedrick Altman rounded out the Waves' All-WCC honorees by making the All-Freshman team.
• Pepperdine ranks fourth nationally in free throw percentage at 79.0%. Ross leads the WCC at 85.5% and has made 159 free throws, eighth-most nationally.

WAVECASTS — All of Pepperdine's WCC Tournament games can be listened to online via WaveCasts at PepperdineWaves.com. Veteran play-by-play man Al Epstein, a 2015 Pepperdine Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, will be behind the microphone (now in his 35th season, this will be his 1,068th consecutive broadcast for the Waves).

WATCH — Friday night's game will be televised nationally by BYUtv and regionally by NBC Sports California, ROOT Sports Northwest and AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain. Fans can also watch the broadcast online from anywhere via the WCC Network. Roxy Bernstein, Dan Belluomini and Dave Rose are the announcers.

PEPPERDINE — Pepperdine boasts a one-of-a-kind athletic department with unprecedented success for a school of its size. The Waves have won NCAA Division I championships in five different men's sports — one of just 18 schools to have accomplished this feat — and nine overall. Of this elite group, Pepperdine has the smallest undergraduate enrollment, is the only school without football and is the only university that has not been affiliated with a "major" conference. The Waves have won a total of 25 team or individual national championships in their history. Pepperdine has also earned the Division I-AAA All-Sports Trophy, an award based on postseason success that's given to the top non-football school, three times (most recently in 2011-12). The Waves have produced 205 conference championships, 318 All-Americans and 53 Olympians. Located in scenic Malibu, California, the university overlooks the Pacific Ocean and its campus and athletic facilities are regularly voted among the nation's most beautiful. Pepperdine, which is affiliated with the Church of Christ, ranks #50 overall on U.S. News and World Report's list of America's best colleges.
