th-ranked Pepperdine women's tennis team ran out of steam on Saturday as they dropped a 4-3 decision to the #8 Bruins at UCLA.

RECAP
Starting off the day in doubles,
Jessica Failla and
Anastasia Iamachkine took on the #1 doubles tandem in the nation in Elysia Bolton and Jada Hart, where the Waves eventually fell 6-1.
Daria Kuczer and
Lisa Zaar finished next on No. 3 doubles, dipping 6-3 to the Bruins to give them the 1-0 lead.
In singles, the
#2 Ashley Lahey defeated #12 Elysia Bolton 6-0, 6-4 on court one for the first Pepperdine win of the day. The Waves faltered on courts two, three and four for the UCLA clinch point, but all matches were played to completion.
On court 5,
Astrid Olsen took an untimely win as #114 Annette Goulak retired the match after a 7-6 (5-4) second set tiebreak. Kuczer also grabbed a win for the Waves, going 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 over UCLA's Sasha Vagramov to put the final score at 4-3 in favor of the Bruins.

The Waves return home next weekend to invite UCSB and Michigan to Ralphs-Straus for a 1 p.m. Friday match and 12 p.m. start on Saturday.
